After graduating from the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in 2005, Monia Chokri has performed more than a dozen plays on the stage.
She also appeared on television, notably in Les Rescapés and Nouvelle adresse.
She became known on the wide screen through Xavier Dolan’s Discovered Les Amours imaginaires (2010), and she recently performed in Robin Aubert’s Les Affamés (2017).
She went on to film directing with a short film, Quelqu’un d’extraordinaire (2014), presented in nearly 50 festivals and winner of 8 awards including that of the Best International Short Film, Youth Jury at the 66th Locarno Film Festival.
In 2018, she directed her first feature film, La Femme de mon frère, which premiered at the opening of the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, in May 2019.
