Credited with an already 25-year long career, 8 recorded albums (LPs), many collaborations (with Ibrahim Maalouf, Damon Albarn, -M-, Booba, …), awarded with 2 ‘Victoires de la Musique’, Oxmo Puccino is a real artist, one of those who are passionate about words, music and who are paying attention to others, to their lives, their concerns, their dreams.
As a multifaceted artist, he is the author of 3 books (Editions ‘Au Diable Vauvert’), he also participated – as an actor and author – in Steeve Five & Barbe Bleue operas, staged by Roland Auzet.
His first steps into Cinema came along with the director Jacques Doillon while recording the Original Score of Les Petits Frères in 1999. In 2014, he directed his first short-film Anti-Trente.
He always prefers putting forward the wild Poetry, the tragic Theater, and the funny situations of his daily life. In 2015, he participated as a voice actor in the animated film Adama. In 2018, Oxmo played the character of the ‘Guardian of the Stones’ in the animated film Yeti. Invited by Thomas Ngijol, Oxmo Puccino participated in the Original Score of Black Snake, with Jesus Wu, recording a track with an old school New York’ atmosphere, produced by Skread. He is one of the only ‘members’ of the French urban music scene to break the codes of Hip-Hop by building bridges between various styles.
The latest proof of his talent – praised by all – is obvious on his latest LP, La Nuit du Réveil, released in September 2019, on which the new members of the French rap scene (Orelsan, Caballero & Jeanjass, Gaël Faye) featured on it with audacity.
Currently, on tour in France, Oxmo Puccino will be on stage at the famous Parisian venue, L’Olympia, on November 17th.
